More about what ketamine treats

Depression:

Depression rates in the U.S. today are staggering. A Boston University study reveals that prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, about 8.5% of U.S. adults were depressed. After the pandemic began, the rate went up to 28%, and in 2021 it reached 33%. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say that depression is the leading cause of disability in the U.S. for people aged 15-44. Some people get relief from prescription medications such as Prozac and Zoloft. Sadly, many others who are depressed do not derive much benefit from either prescription drugs or talk therapy. We offer ketamine therapy for depression at our Sandy, Utah, facility.

Symptoms of depression include:

  • Pervasive sadness
  • Sleeping more or less than usual
  • Avoiding interactions with others
  • A feeling of fogginess and trouble making decisions
  • Loss of interest in hobbies or events you previously enjoyed
  • Trouble concentrating and completing tasks
  • Trouble regulating emotions
  • Eating a lot more or less than usual
  • Physical aches and pains
  • Decreased interest in the activities of daily living such as showering
  • Suicidal thoughts

Anxiety:

Anxiety

Anxiety in the U.S. has been up and down during the pandemic, rising to a height of 37% and dropping to a low of 25%. Anxiety drugs can be helpful, but some people do not like the side effects. The goal of seeking help for anxiety is to feel better and be able to function, but anxiety drugs often make people feel so sleepy and foggy that they are unable to work, drive or even socialize. At our facility in Sandy, Utah, we help patients get their lives back by administering ketamine treatment for anxiety.

Symptoms of anxiety include:

  • Nervousness, restlessness and tension
  • Sweating
  • Heart palpitations
  • Racing pulse
  • Shortness of breath
  • Trembling
  • Nausea
  • Inability to sleep
  • Trouble concentrating

PTSD/Military PTSD:

Post-traumatic stress disorder can result from many kinds of traumas. It is often associated with military service, but it is also known to happen after rape, abuse and other violent events. Those who suffer from PTSD find it almost impossible to function because they are unable to escape from the event that triggered their PTSD. Sufferers often come to us as a last resort and finally find relief with ketamine therapy.

Symptoms of PTSD include:

  • Nightmares
  • Flashbacks to the event
  • Severe anxiety
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Delusions
  • Extreme irritability
  • Violent outbursts
  • Uncontrolled episodes of crying
  • Alcohol or drug abuse
  • Feeling detached or numb
  • Feeling guilty
  • Intrusive thoughts
  • Always on guard, easily startled

IV Infusions

What Is IV Nutritional Therapy?

IV nutritional therapy (a.k.a intravenous therapy, IV nutrition, IV therapy or IV nutrient therapy) is a type of therapy commonly used for its wide range of health benefits, which can include anti-aging, improved immune system minimized anxiety, reversed symptoms of hangovers and more. Although many may believe that nutrient deficiencies aren’t so common anymore, there are still many individuals who aren’t getting the essential nutrients our bodies need to perform optimally.

Because IV treatment is administered directly into the veins, the results may be faster than those of oral or other traditional medicines. Physicians believe IV nutrient therapy can be safe, effective and restorative, and can be customized to suit the unique needs of each patient individually.

What Is NAD+?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a small molecule essential for the activity of some enzymes that is found in every one of the body’s cells. NAD+ is needed for the fundamental biological processes that make living possible, from metabolism to DNA health. NAD+, is required for safe and efficient energy transfer to tissues from food.

NAD+ is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes. Among these, NAD+ has two general sets of reactions in the human body:
  • Working as a helper molecule for proteins that regulate other cellular functions
  • Helping turn nutrients into energy as a key player in metabolism
These processes are crucial in that they help with circadian rhythms and oxidative stress while also maintaining the health of the body’s DNA.

Benefits of NAD+

NAD+ benefits living cells in many ways, in that it acts as fuel for critical biological processes, including:
  • Setting your body’s circadian rhythm, or internal clock
  • Converting food into energy
  • Repairing damaged DNA
  • Fortifying cells’ defense systems
The body does not have an endless supply of NAD+. The coenzyme declines with age. Low NAD+ levels have been associated with health issues, including illnesses such as vision loss, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease and diabetes. Research has found that increasing levels of NAD+ may lower the risk of many chronic diseases and reverse signs of aging.
